ON THE RADAR
Is the World
Losing its
Morality?
Are we losing our culture? Are we forgetting our
traditions? With our fast-paced lives and short-term
memories, it has become easier to forgo morals and
embrace selfi sh desires instead. Krishna Mawani had
the privilege of meeting Sadhvi Anadi Saraswatiji who
shows us how we can lead more fulfi lled lives and pave
our way through life’s various adversities.
Sadhvi Anadi Saraswatiji had an enlightening
realisation at the tender age of 16. An
encounter with her guru made her see
the world diff erently. Since then, she has
abandoned worldly desires for spirituality and
knowledge, and now preaches the word of Lord
Ram all over India and in several Asian cities
too. Most recently, she appeared in Bangkok,
where Sadhvi shared her knowledge at the
Hindu Dharma Sabha Vishnu Mandir from
June 9th to the 11th.
What is the most outstanding feature in Lord Ram’s personality that should
be embraced in today’s world?
These days, we are losing our culture, values and discipline. Relationships are
failing, children are rebellious, and families are breaking up. We can look to Lord
Ram for guidance. Lord Ram is a maryada purshotam — the ideal personality to
teach us to protect and preserve humanity, especially as most of mankind has
forgotten traditions, religions and virtues. We should follow in his footsteps, learn
how to handle family life and relationships, and how to lead a divine life.
How can anybody in today’s society benefi t from his examples?
If one follows the scripture from Tulsidas Goswami’s Ram Charit Manas, you not
only learn moral values, but can also enhance your spiritual power through Lord
Ram’s energy. Without chanting the name of Lord Ram, Hanuman was nothing.
Learn about lok vyavahar, relationship management, spiritual power and ego
control through the powerful verses in Ram Charit Manas. You will learn that
Lord Ram is the best man, best friend and the best enemy. With Lord Ram, we can
achieve anything we wish.
What inspired you to follow this path?
I saw miracles and extraordinary things in my childhood. When I was 16 years old,
my father introduced me to my Guruji. Through him, I became enlightened. Guruji
showed me the power of Gayatri mantra, meditation and spiritual knowledge. I
saw my past lives; I realised the diff erence between truth and maya. With spiritual
knowledge, we can accept reality. We can transform lives through meditation.
After completing my graduation and post-graduation, I realised I wasn’t made
for this world, but for the spiritual world. After a lot of contemplation, meditation
and practice, I dedicated my life to this. So, on January 6th, 2008, I took Sannyasa
Diksha (initiation as a swami) in Ajmer,
Rajasthan, India. I am now committed
entirely to spiritual work. I study the
Hindu teachings every day for two
hours. I teach the Hindu philosophies,
values and morals as learned from
the Bhagavad Gita, Vedanta and
Upanishads. I also teach cultural values
through sanskar (values), sanskiriti
(culture) and parampara (traditions).
Additionally, I visit many schools and
colleges to inspire the youth.
What message would you like to leave
for the Indian community in Thailand?
I’m delighted with my visit here. I can see
everyone is following moral values and it
makes me very proud.
