Assumption 1: You will be falling into a deep pit of darkness.
Assumption 2: You will not have any control over your mind or body.
Assumption 3: You will be brainwashed into believing anything you are told.
These are just a few assumptions that people have in regards to hypnosis, as
certifi ed clinical and general hypnotherapist Roshni Srikureja reveals. “You don’t
go under hypnosis, you go into hypnosis,” says the 31-year-old. “You are sitting on
my comfortable chair where I guide you into a deep and relaxing state so that your
mind is focused. I deliver positive suggestions for your issues. For example, if you are
experiencing trouble with self-worth, I will feed your subconscious with thoughts that
you are safe, you are supported and that you don’t have to live in fear, but in freedom.
