Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming sports-
drama fl ick, Mukkabaaz narrates the
struggles of a low-caste boxer who gets
caught up in dirty politics and prejudice.
Pursuing his passion, Shravan (Vineet
Kumar Singh) trains at a gym owned
by the local big shot of the boxing
federation, Bhagwan Das Mishra (Jimmy
Shergill). Trouble ensues when Shravan
and Mishra’s niece, Sunaina (Zoya
Hussain), fall in love. The inter-caste
relationship puts an end to Shravan’s
lifelong dream, as he gets blacklisted
from competing in higher levels. That is
until Sanjay Kumar (Ravi Kishan) steps
in as Shravan’s coach to transform him
from a brawler to a boxer.

The rest of the gang
includes an ensemble cast and narrates stories based on love, lust and greed.
This unconventional storytelling of characters in absolute mayhem promises
a lot of laughs and entertainment.

PADMAN
The highly anticipated movie Padman
is the biopic of the Tamil Nadu-
based social activist, Arunachalam
Muruganantham. The story revolves
around Lakshmikant Chauhan, played
by Akshay Kumar who is trying to
make sure that women in rural areas
have access to aff ordable sanitary
napkins. He begins manufacturing
pads and stands his ground, even after
being shunned by society and his own
family. With a powerful social message,
Padman appears to be a progressive
step towards empowering women and
reducing cultural norms and religious
taboos on menstruation.
