BLACKMAIL
Blackmail is a dark comedy fi lm that
narrates the story of Dev (Irrfan Khan),
a middle-class man who learns about
his wife’s infi delity when he comes
home earlier than expected to surprise
her. Instead of confronting her, he
decides to blackmail his wife’s boyfriend
by demanding one lakh rupees.
However, things take an interesting
turn when he gets blackmailed in return
by people who have discovered his
secret. This leads to an intense cat-and-
mouse chase that ultimately seems to
go out of control, resulting in a lot of
bloodshed and violence.

Shoojit Sircar’s much-awaited
fl ick, October, appears to be an
unconventional romantic drama.
Inspired by real-life incidents, the fi lm
revolves around Dan (Varun Dhawan),
a hotel management student, who is
unhappy working in a fi ve-star property
that is part of his trainee programme.
When Varun’s classmate, Shuili, played
by debutant Banita Sandhu, ends up in
ICU after a thrilling turn of events, Dan
becomes completely devoted to her as
a caretaker of sorts. This fi lm promises
to be a story of love and loss that
brings out a new angle to romance.

OMERTA
The highly-anticipated Omerta is a
biographical crime drama that stars
Rajkummar Rao as Ahmed Omar
Saeed Sheikh, a British terrorist of
Pakistani descent. The fi lm recounts
some of the deadliest terror attacks the
world has ever witnessed, including the
1994 Delhi kidnappings of Westerners
in India, the 9/11 World Trade Centre
attack, and the brutal beheading of
the Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel
Pearl in 2002. Made with the aim to urge
everyone to ‘face the truth’, this spine-
chilling story of an antagonist explores
the makings of a terrorist.
