                                coming to Bangkok

          MERI PYAARI BINDU

                                      Set in the 80s in Kolkata, Meri Pyaari
                                      Bindu borrows its title from the popular
                                      song of the same name in the 1968 movie
                                      Padosan. In this fi lm, we see Ayushmann
                                      Khurrana and Parineeti Chopra act
                                      together for the fi rst time. Parineeti
                                      plays Bindu, an aspiring singer and ex-
                                      girlfriend of Ayushmann’s character,
                                      Abhimanyu Roy who is a successful
                                      writer. Suff ering from writer’s block,
                                      Abhimayu returns to his roots to write
                                      an old-fashioned love story about his
                                      old fl ame. Their romantic tale is told in
                                      fl ashbacks, as Abhimayu treads down
                                      memory lane for inspiration.

          HINDI MEDIUM

                                      Hindi Medium is a light-hearted
                                      comedy starring Irrfan Khan and
                                      Pakistani actress Saba Qamar. Irrfan
                                      plays Raj, a rich Punjabi businessman
                                      from Chandni Chowk, while Saba plays
                                      his wife, Mita. Wanting to make it big
                                      in life, they plan to move in to a posh
                                      area in Delhi where they hope to be
                                      welcomed by their new elite neighbours.
                                      To fi t in with their new life, they need to
                                      send their daughter, Pia to an English-
                                      speaking school. What follows are
                                      witty dialogues and amusing scenarios
                                      that refl ect upon a realistic situation
                                      in a society where many middle-class
                                      families struggle for a better life.

          HALF GIRLFRIEND

                                    Half Girlfriend is based on Chetan Bhagat’s
                                    recent novel of the same name. The fi lm
                                    depicts a dramatic romantic tale between
                                    protagonist Madhav Jha (Arjun Kapoor)
                                    and Riya Somani (Shraddha Kapoor). A
                                    deep friendship evolves between these two
                                    main characters as they get to know each
                                    other through their common passion for
                                    basketball. Madhav wants a relationship,
                                    but Riya doesn’t, so she decides to be his
                                    ‘half girlfriend’ instead — more than a
                                    friend, less than a girlfriend. The two kindle
                                    their growing friendship, but soon things
                                    go sour as Madhav yearns for more. They
                                    fi nally decide to go their separate ways, but
                                    Madhav wants her back and is determined to
                                    fi nd her. Will Madhav be able to fi nd Riya and
                                    make her fall in love with him?
