SIMRAN
Kangana Ranaut plays the titular
character Simran in the upcoming drama
film directed by Hansal Mehta. Despite
the initial controversies clouding this
film, Kangana doesn’t disappoint. In the
theatrical trailer, we see Simran as a bold
and quirky Gujarati housekeeper living in
the United States. However, Simran likes
to gamble and steal, and her strange
habits get her into trouble. She starts
fighting with her parents, boyfriend
and the police in an adrenaline-charged
car chase. The film is loosely based on
an Indian-American Sandeep Kaur, a
nurse that committed bank robberies
in a desperate attempt to pay back loan
sharks.
Directed by: Hansal Mehta | Starring: Kangana Ranaut, Soham Shah,
Esha Tewari Pande, Aneesha Joshi | Music by: Sachin - Jigar

HASEENA PARKAR
Let’s take a step back to the 80s in
Mumbai when everyone feared the name
of gangster Dawood Ibrahim (Siddhanth
Kapoor). Dawood took over the reins
of Mumbai by ruling the city through
illegal means. With it, his family including
his sister Haseena Parkar (Shraddha
Kapoor) were reluctantly dragged into
the limelight and were heavily harassed by
the police. Haseena was left distraught,
especially after the gruesome murder
of her husband. She eventually began
running her own crime syndicate. 88 cases
were filed against her, but she appeared
in court only once. This biographical
crime film narrates the life of Mumbai’s
powerful godmother of Nagpada.
Directed by: Apoorva Lakhia | Starring: Shraddha Kapoor, Siddhanth Kapoor,
Ankur Bhatia | Music by: Sachin - Jigar | Release Date: September 22nd
JUDWAA 2
The sequel to David Dhawan’s comical
film Judwaa (1997) makes a comeback
to the big screen after 20 years. Varun
Dhawan reprises the role of the
estranged twins Raja and Prem, originally
played by Salman Khan. Like in the first
film, the twins were separated by birth,
but are genetically bound by common
reflexes, which happens to only one in
eight million people. The two eventually
reunite in London, with the recreation of
hilarious scenes and popular songs such
as ‘Oonchi hai Building’ and ‘Tan Tana
Tan’ from the original film. Jacqueline
Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu play the
love interests.
Directed by: David Dhawan | Starring: Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez,
Taapsee Pannu | Music by: Sajid-Wajid, Meet Bros, Sandeep Shirodkar, Anu Malik
| Release Date: September 29th
